I'm trying to play a MPEG2 video in PowerPoint 2003, but the only thing I
get is a blank (black) image during the time the movie takes to play. I
tryed to play a .avi file and it works.
I have created the MPEG2 movie with Pinnacle software and I can see it in
perfect conditions with Media Player 10.
What I'm doing wrong?

How long is the file name? I ran into this once and by making the file name
shorter it then worked.

Are you running Windows XP SP 2? I ask because, if so, there is a recently
discovered problem that sounds like what you are describing. The only work
around that I know of at this time is to convert the media file to AVI or WMV.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the Critical
Update or Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 as soon as possible. From
PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for Updates".]

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint

Hello,

Most likely this is caused by your display driver and can be mitigated by
reducing the hardware acceleration setting for your display (as a
short-term solution) until drivers are available for your display which
don't require the reduced setting.

To change the hardware acceleration setting:

1) Open the Display control panel
2) In the "Settings" tab, click on the "Advanced" button
3) In the "Troubleshoot" tab, reduce the hardware acceleration setting.
4) Click OK
5) Click OK again.
