NEED SOME HELP!!

I've got a Browser Situation with my PPT presentation I
have on my website.

I have these little "s's" that show up in the pres.
Also when the last slide is up and you click the 'next'
button then all the slides that are in the show show up on
the LEFT hand side in a list. Now this DOESN'T happen in
Netscape...only Explorer!

I am using the following version of PPT 2000
6.0 Internet Explorer 2800
4.02 Front page
7.1 Netscape

Thank you....Kat

If you need a URL I'll supply it!

On the left side, click "view" (beside corporate
presentation). Click on the main image on the page
(right side) to start the presentation. There are 32
slides. During this "view", the bullets are fine.
Quickly go to the last slide. At this point, the
presentation changes (a mystery, as explained below).
When it reaches the last slide, a different view kicks in
(???). It is this view that displays the letter s,
instead of the image bullet.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Probably because the first part of your briefing, your showing images of your
PowerPoint slides. In the last slide when you click next and it jumps into the
different view of the presentation, where the "s" appears as bullets you have a
statement in your html coding which takes you back to the frame.html page, which
is what PowerPoint generated when you originally published your presentation to
PowerPoint. Your showing your presentation twice.

The "s" represents the value for the bullet character for the font that you used
when you created the presentation. For some reason, when you published your
presentation, PowerPoint did not convert the bullet. What font did you use when
you created your original presentation?

Have you fixed this since posting? I've viewed the presentation and can't see
the problem you've described. I noticed that the link to the presentation from
the image on the main page is a bit odd ... it both links to the first page of
the presentation and opens a new window on the second page of the presentation.
Is that deliberate?

In any case, the pages of your presentation are simple static images generated
directly by PowerPoint itself (under the control of an addin). Sometimes
PowerPoint gets cranky for reasons unknown and substitutes different fonts on
printouts and image exports from a specific slide or two. That might account
for the oddball bullets.

The only way I know of fixing it is to delete and re-create the slide.

If you have the most recent release of PPT2HTML and use PPT2000 or higher, you
could also try this:

- Open the presentation
- Hold down CTRL while you click the ? (help) icon on the PPT2HTML toolbar
- PPT2HTML "roundtrips" to HTML and back, which sometimes solves corruption
problems
- Once it finishes, use PPT2HTML to re-create your HTML

Oh rats. Skip most of my first reply, Kat.

Turns out that what you see in Opera and probably other browsers is quite a
different story from what MSIE shows. In Opera, I never got to the second part
of the show. Now in MSIE I see what you mean.

Michael's correct. Looks like you're using a font called Arrows1 which is
likely a symbol font, so whatever symbol you use for the bullet is mapped to
the position occupied by the "S" character in normal fonts. If the Arrows1
font isn't available, you get the browser's best guess as to what it should use
instead. Try using a more commonly available font for your bullets.
WingDings, for example.
