I noticed I was the only one skipped over on my last
question. I must have asked it so that it didn't make
sense. I have my ppt. presentation saved in both 2000
office and 2003 office. When I saved it in the html
format, it caused the presentation to start doing strange
things. Now it will get to several on the slides and not
go any farther. I also have to click for each function on
the slides that do work. One click to go to the next
slide and one click to have sound, even though I had them
set for automatic sound. What have I done wrong? and how
can I fix the problem? so that I can have each slide
appear with one click and have sound at the same time
without having to double click? thank you

Hi Dwight,

Please do not feel slighted that you did not receive an answer to your post.
Most of us do not answer the questions if we are not 95% sure of the
answers. In your case, you are asking about PowerPoint conversions to HTML.
This is not an area I am strong in, so I didn't answer.

A lot of the time, I will try to duplicate the problem that a poster
describes, then look for the solutions. This may be why your answer is slow
in coming. I have not been able to duplicate it, although I did not spend
much time on it. You see the MVP's are volunteers and have to earn a living
doing other stuff and, in general, bosses are most unreasonable about
spending company time on the NG's.

But perhaps we can help to get some more details that could identify the
problem a little better.

1) How big is the presentation?
2) Does it do this every time it is saved as HTML or just this once?
3) How many hyperlinks are in the presentation?
4) Does the presentation work flawlessly when used as a PPT Show?
5) Have you done a 'Detect and repair' on PowerPoint?
6) If you split the show in half, do both halves do the same thing, or can
you localize it to a slide(s)?
7) Is the PPT file on a network?
8) Does the show convert correctly from another computer with PowerPoint
2003?
9) Do you have embedded fonts?
10) Are all the sounds embedded or linked?
11) Are the sound links local or networked?
12) Do any other similar presentation convert in this same manner, or do
they convert correctly?

You are not being forgotten, but instead have a more complicated solution
than your question would seemingly suggest. Please post back with the
answers. While HTML is not an area I am well versed in, perhaps the answers
will identify the solution to someone who is.
