PP2000: White border around letters

Hello

I have a problem with Powerpoint 2000 on different PC's.
Black background, different lines of text with a light grey forecolor
in animation settings I defined that the previous line changes the color
from light grey to blue.

that works but a small light grey border appears around the blue letters.
whats wrong here?

-problem appears on TFT-screens (2 different screens on PC's, plus 2
different notebooks)
-newest graphic card drivers installed
-test with different color depths (256, 16bit, 32bit) --> with 256 colors it
works, on other depths it does not.

Has anyone a solution for this problem (apart of 256 colors)
