ok.. so the image resizer powertoy for winXP (pro) was
working just fine a few days ago. then i installed
photoshop 7.0 on my computer and now, when i right-click
on an image i don't get the "resize pictures" option. i
uninstalled and re-installed image resizer, but no luck.
can anyone help??

thanks!

Does it still work if you just click on a file in Windows
Explorer?

Have you looked at the settings in PS7 to see what you have.

that's how i used to resize.. by right clicking it in
windows explorer and selecting "resize pictures". i
don't get that option anymore in my right click..

there are no particular settings in PS7 that would
enable/disable other image resizing apps. (at least not
that i know of)

after installing PS7, it automatically changed the jpg
file types to open w/ PS7 instead of the default, which
was windows picture & fax viewer (PFV). i even changed
it back to associate jpegs with PFV, but still nothing...

There should be a global file association setting in
Photoshop (I've got PS Elements, under the view menu. You
can change or remove all default file associations to
Photoshop.

You may also have to re-assign the associations to windows
image and fax viewer, not sure about that.

Bingo! Correct. The installation of Photoshop reassigned
the file assocations. There is no setting inside PS to
reassign them. It is a system setting... so change them
back in folder options.

I bet there is a file association inside Photoshop, it is on
the view menu of Photoshop Elements 2.0, but you may have to
look for it in PS 7.
