Powerpoint without Microsoft Office

Can I use Powerpoint without having Microsoft Office? (I have Windows, but
not the office software) My computer is a Dell and I don't think it came
with that stuff.

PowerPoint doesn't come with Windows. There are two ways to get PowerPoint --
with most versions of Office or purchase the standalone version. What came with
your computer?

Nothing came with my computer so I bought what I thought was the stand alone
version, but it says I have to have office to run it. Is that true? Or will
it work?

You purchased the upgrade version then. You need to purchase the "Full
Version". The upgrade version requires that you already have a version of
Office on your system. Try returning it to the store for an exchange. They
should be accomodating since the full version is significantly more money.
