PowerPoint Presentation hangs on me no matter what I do

I have a presentation I am doing - elaborate slides with music as well as
text and images. I can't get the presetation to run for more than 5 or 6
slides - I have tried PowerPoint XP as well as 2003, and I still get hangups.
When I use custom animation and play the slide in PPt, the slide that is
hanging plays fine. If I use the slide show button the slide plays fine - if
I go back one or two slides, start the presentation from there, the
presentation runs fine and the slide that was hanging doesn't hang any more -
but 5 or 6 slides down the road I get a new slide hang. I have tried
everything I know and I am still at ground zero - need to get this up and
running before the next semester starts taking registrations (CULL - Clemson
University Lifelong Learning program - non-profit, and I am one of the
volunteers)

Thanks ahead of time - CJ

CJ,

Most playback problems can be a problem with your graphics card drivers.

Visit the website of the manufacturer of your card to update the drivers.

e.g. nvidia ati etc

You can more or less prove it's your graphics card drivers by starting windows in safe mode.... see
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00130.htm

If the presentation runs fine it's your graphics card drivers.
