Hi,

We have an employee who was attempting to add a video clip
to his PowerPoint presentation. He
chose 'insert', 'Object', and 'video clip' for the object
type. He then got an error in PowerPoint from Microsoft
Media Player stating a problem with a device driver. I
installed Windows XP service pack 2 and upgraded Microsoft
Media player from version 9 to 10. He then attempted the
original exercise again, but to our dismay, 'video clip'
is no longer listed as an Object type?! I then reinstalled
Office 2003, thinking that this would again populate the
PowerPoint object types, but it did not. Has anyone run
into this before or know how the list of object types are
populated?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Is there any reason why your employee is just not using "insert > movie >
from file?"

TAJ,

Thanks for your reply! He does not use "insert > movie >
from file" since he requires that the movie be in
iconified form until played. Is there another way to do
this?

Thanks again,
Mike
