I'M TRYING TO INSTALL POWERPOINT 2002 ON MY COMPUTER AND
IT KEEPS SAYING INSTALLATION ERROR 1608 CANNOT FIND VALID
PRODUCT AND WON'T LET ME RUN THE PROGRAM

You have an upgrade edition. It will not install without proof you have the
previous qualifying edition.

When it asks where the previous edition is, swap CDs over, put the CD of
your previous PowerPoint version in the CD drive and point it at that. Once
it's confirmed that you do indeed have the qualifying product, swap CDs back
and the installation of PowerPoint 2002 will continue.

If you do not have a previous qualifying version, you cannot install the
upgrade edition of PowerPoint2002. Either return the product to the store
you purchased it at and get a full retail version or get PowerPoint2003 and
use the CDs of PowerPoint2002 as the previous qualifying version.

And please turn OFF your Caps Lock key. It's considered shouting, is
extremely rude and makes the posting difficult to read.

To fix the big problem:

Pry the Caps Lock key off your keyboard. Put it on a concrete slab.
Smack it with a large hammer. Contiue pounding until the key has
turned into a fine powder.

Afterwards, try reposting using a civilized voice.
