[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the Critical
Update or Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 as soon as possible. From
PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for Updates".]

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint

Hello,

Sounds like you might be running into a problem that has been reported (but
unconfirmed) when using PowerPoint 2003, Windows XP Service Pack 2 and some
3rd party services or applications. One customer has reported that by not
loading the Cisco Security Agent windows startup item (using MSCONFIG.EXE),
that the problem went away. Of course, disabling a security feature is not
something we want to blindly instruct customers to do.

Troubleshoot this like any other Windows startup configuration issue using
the various "selective startup" options of the System Configuration tool
(MSCONFIG.EXE).

If you are able to confirm that the problem is triggered in PowerPoint when
a specific 3rd party service or application is loaded when Windows starts
please let us know by posting your findings back to this newsgroup so that
others can benefit from your findings.

It at all possible, include the file name and version of file found to
trigger the symptom.

Thanks,
