Guys no matter who or what version creates a powerpoint document I can't
read it. I get a message that states

"PowerPoint Can't Read c:\..... .ppt"

This is all I get. I can create a document and save it. When I close the
doc and go back in it tells me that again "powerpoint can't read c:\....
..ppt"

I have uninstalled all office versions. I have ran the cleanup tool. I
have re-installed Office 2003 Pro and still nothing. Every other program
works fine but I am at my wits end. Do I need to reload Windows 2000?
Surely this is something I can try.

Yes I have tried the insert slides thing and this did not fix the problem.
I have downloaded the hotfix and Service Pack 1. Still Nothing. Anybody
else got any answers.

Did you install the latest Service Pack? Open PPT and do Help--> Check For
Updates, then follow the links on the website. Post back and let us know if
that helped :)

Try opening it in different ways: ie, by doubleclicking the file's icon, by
starting PPT and using File, Open then browsing to the file. Same problem?

Try opening a new presentation then use Insert, Slides, From File - can you
insert slides from your earlier presentation?

I have tried the latest service packs. NO matter how I open wether it is by
double clicking or file/open no help at all. I can't insert slides it gives
me another error message but a little different. Really Really strange. I
mean I have uninstalled and completely ran through the office removal tool
and re-installed and still happening. Anybody got any advice. I would
greatly appreciate it.

I hate to say it, but if you can't insert slides from the file, it may be
corrupted.

Try the suggestions here; good luck!

This is also what I thought but I can open from any other computer. I take
it to a computer with Office 2003 Pro installed and it works great. Any
more suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd do a Help, Detect and Repair on the "problem child" computer

Also take the presentation to one of the computers that can open it, round-trip
it to HTML and back, then try opening that on the original computer.
