PowerPoint and Adobe PageMill

In the prior office version on Mac (OS 9), i saved my ppt files as HTML.
Then I established a link from my web page file to the index file withing the
HTML file. When I clicked my link, I saw a "Click Here to Start
Presentation" and an option to download the presentation source. Now I am
using Office 2003 and OSX. I have saved my ppt files as web page and get the
file name icon and a folder that contains all of the other files. I linked
my web page to the filename.htm . However, when I click the link, I get the
page with a bunch of red question marks. Also, when this problem is resolved
and the presentation is successfully viewed, is there an option to download
the presentation (ppt) file?

Thanks

PageMill puts red question marks for things it doesn't understand, and since
PageMill is a pretty old program, it doesn't understand a lot. I avoid using
PageMill for anything that is created in anything other than PageMill. I
even recently created a fairly simple site using HTML, and it confused
PageMill, so I never open it in PageMill.

If the PowerPoint file that you converted to HTML works in your browser,
then it should be OK on the Web; just avoid opening it in PageMill.

According to "Control how the browser opens PowerPoint files" from the PPT
FAQ:

http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00189.htm

"How the browser opens links to PPT or PPS files is a client (ie, local
user's browser/operating system) setting, not something you can control as a
web page or presentation author."
