powerpoint 2003 presentation notes

I have PP2003 S&T with all update from MSOffice Update site. When viewing a
presentation on a seperate screen and the notes on the main viewer, all
slides look normal but the notes area will not show the typed notes (just
-"add notes here"). This seems to happen sporadically through the
presentation. I have a new Toshiba Laptop, XP Home SP2,80Gb Hdd, 1Gig Memory,
ATI 9600 64Meg video card, DX9.0c. Rebooting and starting up just the
slideshow doensn't help. The next time I run the same slide show, it may work
fine -or not. Size of file seems irrelevant, one is 3 megs other is almost
15.

Have all the notes been added in the notes placeholder? Or could some have
been added in a textbox separate from the placeholder (where it says "click
to add notes")?
