Power User vs. Administrator

Is it true that a Power User cannot backup the system and the files, e.g.,
for every backup one must log off Power User and log on Administrator?
Also, what is the best way to create a new Power User and
copy all the settings from the current Administrator user to the Power User?

Power user in XP is effectively the same as the old standard user under
Windows NT, and does not have access to read quite a number of files (or
registry areas for that matter).

Also, what is the best way to create a new Power User and
copy all the settings from the current Administrator user to the Power User?

Could copy the administrator profile to the "default user profile" first
and then any new account created will use this as a template for profile
creation.

*Note* - You must have permissions as an administrator or as a backup
operator on your computer to back up files and folders. Also, backup
operators and administrators can back up and restore encrypted files and
folders without decrypting the files or folders.

Which OS as there is no such thing as a Power user in Windows XP Home
Edition. You would have to have Windows XP Professional Edition or one of
its "spinoffs" (Media Center, Tablet Edition, etc.) in order to grant Power
user status. And then it is a matter of just changing their group
membership. The way I find easiest is right-clicking on My Computer,
choosing "Manage" and under "Local Users and Groups" either right-clicking
the user (under "Users") and choosing properties and seeing which groups
they are a "Member of" and adding/removing accordingly OR looking in the
"Power Users" group under "Groups" and seeing if the users I want are there
and not in the "Administrators" group.

Depending on what you want out of creating a new user... Want them to all
start out the same? Create a "Default User" profile.. Want to create a few
users based off the settings of one profile and then another set of users
based off the settings of another profile - that is more complicated but
conerns some of the same steps as creating a default user profile. Just the
location to which you copy Profile A tochanges from Default User to the
other users profile locations (and you have to create and logon as these
users ONCE before you start copying to the location.)
