Hello geeks,
I am fumbling with those toys and find it all well and good - especially I
like the:
ImageResizer
Powercalc
CmdHere (Window)
TweakUI

However, I am stumped with SlideshowPowertoySetup
It installs fine but leaves me NO clue whatsoever where it is, how to start
and how it works
Therefore, I need some virtual (spiritual) input. Anyone out there can
enlighten me pleeeeease!

TIA

Steve

Hi Steven,
check it here:-
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Slide Show Wizard creates an HTML-based slideshow from images stored on
your PC. Once you have added your images via the wizard, the resulting
HTML code is created automatically and placed in a folder called My
Slide Shows, all you need to do is upload the contents of that folder to
the Web site.
The CD Slide show generator enables viewing images burned to a CD as a
slide show. Use the Wizard to add and reorder the images then select the
format for the slide Show.

Thank you, but you still missed to answer my question - WHERE is that wizard
located?
There is no reference HOW I can start that wizard

Steve

I can find mine under: Start, All programs, Powertoys for Windows XP, slide
show wizard. Just click on it and it takes you through a wizard to create
the slide show.
Hope this helps.

There was an error or something in the installation of mine and I found the
powertoys folder in "my documents"
all in all you could go the the powertoys program folder and create a
shortcut for the .exe from there. and just add shortcut to desktop.

Nope, Vassik, not there! - only the powertoy calculator and tweakUI is in
this folder..nothing else! If you would be so kind and let me know that damn
link :-) to that wizard I can place it where it should be.

TIA

what's the name of that .exe - I could search for it when I know the name of
that wizard file! Is it really this difficult or are u all drunk right now?
I thought ADD is only a serious issue in Australia..

Ok, I looked at the properties and here is where mine is:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\htmlgen.exe
Very strange that you install it but it does not show up in the Powertoys
for Windows xp program folder.... By the way did you install this logged as
the administrator?

Hang in there, Steven K -- I have the same problem, so I've just been
lurking, waiting to see if you get an answer. I know something happened
because I now have a c:\windows\system32\slideshow.dll, but I also don't
have any start menu shortcuts, and a search for Vassik's htmlgen.exe turned
up nothing. Must be something different about your system and mine from
everyone else's, but I don't know what.

I misslead you and now realized that what your looking for is not an exe but
something else.
I just finished a system restore and therefor I just reinstalled the
powertoys and installed the CD Slide Show Generator
in a specified folder. the only files that are in the folder is a
powertoyreadme.htm and slideshow.dll file, which can not be executed.
After some investigating If a solution is found I will let you know.

I must ask, did you read the readme? I myself dont have any cd-r to use
to test it but try burning a cd full of photos and images.

"CD Slide Show Generator
Enables you to view images burned to a cd as a slide show. Add only images
to a CD-RW drive using Windows XP Explorer and then write these files to a
CD-R or CD-RW disc. A new task is presented in the wizard for generating the
autorun for the slideshow. Now when you take this disc to another computer
that isn't running Windows XP you can still view your images as a slide
show."

Once it is installed, you will find it has a new tab added to Control
Panel - Display

Yes, my log-in is an administrator - I am the admin!

Thx, Dan, I too have this .dll but that's all - nothing else..
Could be that the others installed older versions of that slideshow toy -
the current release definitely seems faulty.

Same thing here Alex, the usual five. The slide show wizard is in the
Powertoys program folder.
I re-installed it just as a test and it asked me if I wanted to overwrite
the one already in my system ... Everything installed fine.
