I have a usb 128mb drive that I use to move my files between my work and
personal PC. I just started using a new ibm t40 laptop and have received a
"power surge on hub port" error message -- and now my usb drive will not work
on any computer ( says the drive is not formatted). I think it corrupted my
drive. Does anyone know why this is happing and of any ways to get my data
back!

Thanks in advanced.

You could try going to the manufacturers site and see if they have a
diagnostic utility. Were you using a power supply on the drive when you got
the error?

Thanks for the advice, I gave this a try and unfortunatly it was unable to
read the drive. I didn't notice the error when the drive was first not
working -- I now get it every now and then, and it doensn't matter if the usb
ports are in use or not.

I'm out of ideas?
