In my computer, i have windows vista powerpoint viewer. I need to make a
powerpoint, but where do i go to do this? I dont have microsoft office as a
program like the other programs in order to do it.

Power Point viewer is just a viewer. To make a Power Point
document/presentation, you need Power Point. It is available as a separate
program I believe. In any case you must buy it and install it.

You can buy Power Point as a stand alone package:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/default.aspx
or you can but it bundled in the Office 2007 suite:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101678741033.aspx
There are various mixes of the suites that may better fit your situation.
The Home and Student version is a particular good value and I think you will
find it pretty complete for almost all uses.

You could try Openoffice. It is free from Sun. They just came out with a new
version.

Download OpenOffice.org - it is a complete office suite, compatible with
MS Office - it will import and export MS Office files. OpenOffice Impress
(equivalent of powerpoint) is, IMHO, easier to use and will create files
that pp users will have absolutely no problem with. I've used it to
create an entire layout for a church directory with Olan Mills - they
accepted it as a pp file and had zero issues.

Actually, as I understand it, SunOffice is available from Sun. OpenOffice
is an Open Source offshoot.

PowerPoint Viewer, as its name implies, only lets you view PowerPoint
presentations, not create them yourself. If you want to create them,
you need to buy a copy of PowerPoint itself; it can be bought either
by itself, or as part of Microsoft Office.

Alternatively, you might want to consider an alternative program
compatible with PowerPoint, such as Corel Presentations (part of the
less expensive Corel WordPerfect Office) or the freeware OpenOffice.
Note that such programs are generally "compatible," but never 100%
compatible. However, depending on your needs, one of them might work
for you.
