Power Point Compatibility

Considering a purchase of Power Point Program for use in an
educational presentation. Have Windows XP home edition program with no
Office programs on it. Can Power Point be purchased as a stand alone
program or must it interact with the office program?
If it can work as stand alone, where would I locate one?
