I would like to put my Power Point 2000 slide show on a CD so that anyone can
view it, rather they have powerpoint or not. Is this possible?

Hi,

Make an autorun CD and include the viewer. This will give you more
information:

Please tell us your PowerPoint / Windows version,
whether you are using vba, whether
your cows are in the corn paddock, or
anything else relevant.

Yes this is perfectly possible, allthough it's fiddly.

Check out the the Powerpoint section of my website where you will find a
complete tutorial.

Nicely done. Note, however, that MS has removed the pre-2003 viewer from their
site and reset some of the viewer links, including the one in your 2000 section,
to point to the new 2003 viewer.

The work's never done, is it? ;-)

I've written a commercial program to solve this problem. There is even
a free license you can use that will do all you want to free.

Download AutoRun from: http://www.typhoonsoftware.com

Unlock AutoRun with the following:
Name free
Serial Number autorunfree.com

Start a new project, give the project a name and press Start wizard.
You can give your CD and name and title, select 'Open a File' from the
drop down box, then browse to your PPS file. and click Done.

You'll see your file added to the workspace, under Failsafe Program
(AutoRun will run this program - the installer to PowerPoint Viewer if
the user cannot view PPS files) select 'All Operating Systems' the
select the MS PowerPoint Viewer installer program. That's it.

Press the Create button to create your project files and the Test
button to try it out. You can play around with other settings like
background colors, images, music and more. When you are done modifying
your project press the Create button to update the project files. Then
burn the contents of your project folder (you can view this by clicking
on the button to the right of the Test button) to CD and you're done.

AutoRun will launch your PPS file from CD. If the user does not have
PowerPoint or the PowerPoint Viewer on their computer, AutoRun will
launch the PowerPoint Viewer installer, install the viewer and then
open your PPS file. All for free!
