Hi,

I'm running windows vista home premium.

Windows fails to recognize my computer is idling.

1) "Choose when to turn off the display" does not work no matter what time
interval i set it to. I have tried turning off Adaptive display, does not
help.

2) Msn fails to change state to "away" after whatever time interval i set as
well.

thanks.

Go to Advance Power Settings.
Set hard drive to turn off a minute or 2 before sleep.
Set Hybrid and Hibernate modes to "Never"
Under USB settings select "Disable"
Under Multimedia select "Allow ....."

If you have a MS wireless mouse then this is the culprit. Check MSDN help
for it. They offer a fix that does not really work IMHO.

You may need to replace your mouse.

I would like to off an additional suggestion but I can't because you did not
include any relevant information from this thread.
