1) I have a new HP desktop with Vista Home Premium, and a 22" monitor. In
sreen saver after 30-45 min the screen locks up with just undiscernable lines
going across and
2) I continually get a message that windows explorer has stopped working and
needs to restart.

I go to the attached website for the patch but the message says this does
not apply to my computer (KB938979)
 
check for newer video drivers.
