Although my laptop is plugged into a wall socket for power, for some reason today it started using the battery and drained it. It went into hibernation, I put in another battery, and I'm trying to figure out why it's not getting power from the ac adapter. I tried restarting it, I tried replugging everything back in, but I can't figure out what's going on. Does anyone have any ideas?

The AC supply is bad, the AC adapter is bad, or you have a internal problem
in the laptop. Is there a light or LED on the adapter? If so, is it on? Use
volt meter to check the output of the AC adapter to see if it is correct. If
the AC adapter checks out OK, then you have a internal problem with the
power supply board, and you will have to take the laptop to a reliable shop.
