Running Powepoint 2003, How can I save as and keep my presentation password
protected ? I send out marketing CD's w/ voiceover on our company.

People can run the presentation on 2002 or lower but cannot hear audio.

Also, I save as 2002/95 and the program tells me that I will lose password
protection. I don't want anyone editing / stealing my file.

Please help.

Thanks,

Jorge

1. Save your file as "Presentation (*.PPT) and before you click OK go to Tools
Security Options and apply a modify password.

2. Have you included the sound files on the CD or are the sounds all embedded?
If they aren't embedded, then you have to include them on the CD. You also need
to ensure that they are linked correctly for distribution. See:

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email a
presentation

3. Don't save as 2002/95 unless you need to distribute the file to people who
use PowerPoint 95. The PowerPoint 2003 format is identical to the format used
by PowerPoint 97, 2000, and 2002. Saving in PowerPoint 95 format will not allow
a password and it will bloat the file size terribly.

See the options here:

Keep in mind that PowerPoint 2002/2003 password protected presentations cannot
be used in earlier versions of PowerPoint.

You might want to distribute an AuoRun CD with the 2003 viewer included.
