I'm not sure I understand that answer Paul. First I just looked at something
in Google groups in xp.general that was dated November 3rd.

Forever? Where do they store all of it?
 
In this XP group, not very many years, (since 2001)
Other groups can go back to 1981.

What particular group?

Not true, august of 2001. Other groups are much older.

Usenet isn't very big, really. Google doesn't carry the binary groups,
which are mostly images. And well over 80% pornographic and pirated
software anyway. If you want to see scary, look at
http://www.archive.org/ which stores nearly every revision of every
webpage ever since at least 1996. Minus images.

Have a look at the Advanced Groups Search in Google Groups and you can
get that sort of information in a minute or two.
