Possible RAM Error...??

OK, I have had a computer now for a little over a year now
and recently I have been having troubles with it. I tried
to reinstall the OS, but every time I do (using the XP Pro
CD, of course), it gets through copying all the files, and
at the bottom it says 'Saving Configuration...' and it
does its thing, and then I've been repeatedly getting a
BSoD that says 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA'. Now, I know
this could be more complex, but is there any way to check
to see what might be wrong with this?? I'm got a Shuttle
MK32N motherboard, an AMD 2100+ processor, (2) 256 MB of
RAM, and (2) IBM 40 GB HD's. If there's any more info
someone would need to diagnose the problem, just let me
know and I will be happy to provide it, if I can find it.
Also, will a clean install possibly fix the problem?? I
don't want to format my C:, and my other HD is chalked
full with files. Out of the 80 or so GB's I have on both,
only about 13 GB is available. I know that is a lot, but
I just wanted to point that out in case formatting the C
drive was a viable option, I would only want to do so as a
last resort.

So you're in the middle of an install correct? What else was on the machine
prior to this installation and how exactly did you do this installation?

Sounds like you have some third party application loading that is
bugchecking the box (like antivirus that is still active) and thats whats
causing the issue. Try booting the machine into recovery console if you can
and see if you can stop unwanted services.
