At first, I had corrupted files which I fixed by doing a complete
re-install of Windows XP. Down loaded all up-dates one by one, trying note
pad each time to see if key board would work, it was one of problems I
encountered before the crash.
Now having problems again, showing up as old style icons on desktop,
AT&T Yahoo Install does'nt show up as usual, shows up as Microsoft Internet
Explorer, other odds and ends I've seen, but can't identify, just an amateur.
Would like to know how to isolate, or identify what files are corrupted
if any, and how to replace or fix them, like make up an example dti.ddl.exe
What Microsoft site to go to.
What Microsoft page, link, etc.
I went to Microsoft site, did some serious browsing, did a search for
"Start up utilities" search came up with one possible download for
Sysinternals Utilities.Index, clicked on the link and up pops a boat load of
individual file names of basic Windows files that comprise the Windows XP
program tree you see when you click on Start, then explore, up pops a window
that shows all the different file icons. I did not, repeat, did not in any
way change any thing at all. The Video Professor Windows tutorial disks
taught me better than that.....
