I have Windows XP Home edition and use IE 6.0. I use Ad-
aware to keep spyware/adware off my computer. About the
last 10 times I have run it a Registry Key pops up and
says it is a possible browser hijack. It says it's the
start page. I have it set to just be blank when I start
IE which is fine and stays set until I run ad-aware, then
it resets and the next time I start IE the homepage is
set as:

http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?
prd=ie&clcid=0x0409&pver=6.0&ar=home

Here's the description ad-aware gives me:

Vendor:Possible Browser Hijack attempt
Category:Data Miner
Object Type:RegData
Size:-
Location:Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main "Start
Page" ("about:blank")
Last Activity:9-16-2004
Risk LevelMedium
Comment:Possible browser hijack attempt
Description:Possible attempt to control\redirect the
browser. This object referrs to a "blacklisted" site.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks!

Melissa

Hi,
Ad-aware is detecting your blank homepage as a possible hijack because of
the very nasty hijacker, CWS About Blank. Don't worry about it. Don't let
Ad-aware fix it. If you *were* hijacked by CWS About Blank, you'd know it.

Hope this helps,
Don
