Hi,

on my wife's PC suddenly no more network. Be it local or internet

When I go in cmd window and start ipconfi /all I get a message staing that
her "Planet WL-3564" port is "not connected"
- it is physically connected
- no energy saving mode activated for it
- properties seem to be correct

What can I do ?

Do I have to think it is broken ? Or can it be that somehow Windows thinks
it is not connected ?

TIA very much !

Without knowing more details, this usually indicates that the
program / application which "connects" the wireless adapter is not
running. Do you know if you are using XP's built-in Wireless Zero
Configuration or are you using the manufacturer's own tool.

Using XP's tool. And the monitoring program of the adapter functions Ok. I
wonder if the antenna of that thin adapter is not broken.
Have tried using my USB adapter and with it everything runs ok.
The defective one is a PCI adapter on the side of the PC
