pop3 mail

I am trying to create a mail account on Outlook 2003 for the first time. I
would like to you my excite.com pop3 account. Following the directions from
both excite and outlook, I am supposed to select tools and then Select the
"Security" tab, and ensure the drop-down menu has "Password Authentication
(NTLM)" selected.
The problem is there is not a security tab under tools. How do I activate
this tab? I am running the latest update of XP.

Have you tried Tools-OPTIONS-Security?
 
Thanks Gordon, but under tools - security there is not a place to check
Password Authentication. That according to excite is what I need to do.
Any other sugestions?

then it's either under the Email account settings in Outlook, OR, a
setting on your connection to Excite.com.
 
AFAIK, Outlook cannot use Excite mail.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

There is not a security setting under email accounts (during setup or
changing info). There is one under Tools - Options - Security, but there is
no place to check Password Authentication

I assume this is different from SPA. I checked that once and that did not
work either.

Gordon:
I just find a way around my problem. Since Outlook can not work with Excite
pop3, I forwarded all my excite mail to my Earthlink account. I then setup
Outlook to work with Earthlink pop3. This works well and allows me to keep my
Excite email address.
