Pop Ups

I tried loading a few pop up blockers but they didn't seem
to work very well. I now seem to get even more pop up
adverts but always by the same companies. Even in
websites like www.next.co.uk where you would never get
adverts.
I am using google toolbar but that doesn't block them
either.
Any ideas how to stop them and what is causing them.
