Pop Ups

I just reinstalled Xp and am getting Pop ups big time
(10 an hour). I only got one or two at the most, per
day before the reload. Did I miss a update or
something? I dont really want to buy a pop up stopper
from the idiots that send the pop ups.
Any help would be great

Google's Toobar 2.0 (now in beta) stops pop-up ads in IE.
