pop ups

How can I stop the pop ups. I have AOL & have it set to
block pop ups but still get a ton of them. They all have
Microsoft internet Explorer after the name of the site.
Is this something I can set in Explorer

To make sure these are not adware/spyware/malware you should
install and run AdAware and SpyBoy. Even if both of these come
up empty pop-ups are annoying as hell and almost impossible to
avoid with internet explorer.

I have switched to mozilla/netscape as the pop-up blocking is
excellent and 99% of the sites work as expected.
