Dave

I have a website that I will be having to access
frequently. When I first get to this site and start to
access it I get the pop-up log-in window to enter my
username and password. It has a button on the log-in name
that when I click on it it has listed my email accounts.
This isn't a Passport log-in window as you might be
thinking. There are no markings on this window other then
Username:, and Password:.

Can anyone tell me where and how to go about deleteing
these names out of this window? Since I've never logged
into this service before I do not know how my email log-
in names got there. I went to msn.com and clicked on
the "Sign In" for Passport button and these email names
were not listed in them.

Does this have to do with the Index.dat files and
recording this information or would this be in the
registry? How can I delete these entries so no one else
can get them?

Thanks

Dave,
A few possibilities:
1. Select that entry in the drop-down list (just put the pointer on it) and
hit the Delete key.
2. Delete any cookies from that site.
3. If using XP... Ctrl Panel> User Accounts> [yourname]> Manage my network
passwords. Anything there?

Don

Thanks for replying Don,

Tried deleting cookies and it's still there. Tried
managing User Accounts and they are not listed. That's
what has me puzzled.

I will try again this afternoon when I get home. Could it
be in my Index.dat file also? Or possibly in my registry
somewhere?

Thanks

Dave

Another idea or two...
This sounds like the information is maybe saved by XP. Again... in Control
Panel> User Accounts> [username] there's nothing there when you click on
"Manage my network passwords?"

Or, try typing just the first letter of the username. When the autocomplete
list appears, select that name and hit the Delete key.

Are you sure that it's not a Passport site.

Or, from Internet Options> Content> Autocomplete, try clearing everything.
If you don't have passwords saved somewhere else, Protected Storage PassView
from http://www.webattack.com/get/pspv.shtml will
help you recover all cached passwords *before* you clear everything.

Hello Don. I tried the manage password again and low and
behold they were in there this time around. They were not
there when I looked before. I deleted them and when I
tried opening this log-in box again the other log-in
names were not present.

Thanks a bunch for your help. I really appriciate you
taking the time to share your knowledge. I'll make sure I
document this for a next time which i hope never happens.
LOL

Regards,

David
