Hi,

We've been doing some performance test of our XPe build againt other vendors
(Vendor1, Vendor2). we recieved poor performance incompare to the others
while testing standard user environment usage. the test included
screen-refresh, window dragging, graphics and video.

our machine and Vendor1 uses XPe (RDP 5.2), while Vendor2 uses CE

I was wondering if there are any settings I can tweak to improve RDP
performance.
also, what hardware components are most important in this case?

thanks in advance,

YaronM

Yaron,

I have numbers on XPe and CE 5 RDP performance from Winbench. They are very
close. As for your Vendor 1 is this an XPe machine too, or XP Pro, or Linux?

If it's anything other than XPe it could just be some missing components in
the slow system (#3). Also, make sure that you disable the connection bar
when your doing your benchmark. GDI has to cut around the bar on every
screen refresh which adds some overhead. Since we are on the subject, have
you noticed that the 5.2 client has a problem where unchecking the "Display
the connection bar when in full screen mode" checkbox doesn't take effect?

Hi Brad,

the Vendor1 machine is XPe also and still has better performance.
I don't get any related dependencies errors in TD.
you're correct about the 5.2's connection-bar. it is a known bug in the
client (let me know if you find some workaround it).
