Alex

I've recently updated my Windows XP - now I have trouble
watching many websites b/c the window says it "violates
your company policy". Sometimes, it asks me to install a
certain feature first before watching the website,
sometimes it sells me the website-content for "criminal".

Is there a specific safety-device that I have downloaded?
What can I do to fix this?

Thanks for your advice, ALEX

Confusing.

Did you install software to prevent access to certain
sites?
What exactly are you being asked to install when visiting
the websites you want to "watch"?

Define the "it" that is making you buy website content
for criminals?

At this stage,I can only hazard a guess as to what is
going on.Please do not buy anymore criminal software.

Download,update,and run the following app:

Scan in both safe mode and normal mode...just incase you
have any premium rate dialers onboard.

Post back the results/for further assistance.

Sadie,
I am experiencing two kinds of troubles:

1.I may enter a search into a search machine, then click
on the links that come up and, and no link will open the
related website b/c it reads the message "privacy
violation of your company"; some of the messages read
that I cannot open the websites b/c of their "rated
criminal" content ... we're talking cooking/recipes
websites here!
I have just tried some of the sites, and can enter them
at the moment ... very strange. What you are saying makes
sense, if those dialers are not there all the time, then
I am able to access these websites sometimes.

2.I am only being asked to install some components on the
computer for when I wish to go further into some
official, normal websites. I do not do this, b/c I
haven't a clue why I should install anything.
Again, this is not happening at the moment I am writing
this reply.

If it is to do with dialers, how can they get through to
my College network? I am accessing the internet via our
College network.

Thanks for your advice, ALEX

Oh,O.K.,

computer (preferably)go to any of these sites for expert
assistance:

You will be aked to download and run HijackThis!:

It is doubtful you will be able to access the sites from
the infected computer.

Cheers, I'll see how things go ... at the moment, the
computer seems fine. Have got the a2 software installed
now, will check the computer regularly (nothing found
yet) and hopefully avoid any infestation in the future.
Strange though b/c it all happens just after I update my
XP with the Service Pack 3 ...
All the best, ALEX
