Plus or minus

Having loadedwindows xp for the third time I am still
plagued with the type fields being full of plus signs-
internet ex-plorer outlook express - every time I go to
type these plus signs start up and go on for ever. Can u
assist

I dont think I have a bug having debugged ebery hour,yes
I have firewall, anti virus, spyware etc and very rarely
browse without pop up stopper.
Could it be keyboard or a message did mention 'syntax'
