Hi - this is irritating. XP pro with all the updates. If i hot plug a
camera, external disk, whatever, the keyboard stops. Any hints?
thanks - d

Seems to me as a Hardware IRQ conflict problem. Try checking this by going
into System Information and see for any hardware conflicts. If your USB port
and Keyboard are on the same IRQ, then it might result in malfunctioning of
either devices such as this. Try uninstalling USB controllers from the Device
Manager tab and doing a refresh.

It is unlikely to be an IRQ issue. It is far more probable that Ian's
answer is correct. To the OP: purchase an powered-usb hub and use that
for your other usb devices. They are not very expensive - $20-40.
