I'm looking for a refresher on this. So instead of saying what I think it
does and how it should be set I will just ask: BIOS setting is usually
something like 'Plug n Play OS' with options of 'yes/no'.

1) what is if for? what does either setting do?
2) how should it be set? or how do you determine how it should be set?

any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Setting Plug and Play BIOS Settings

Windows XP ignores the Plug and Play BIOS setting and uses ACPI,
the BIOS setting can be left at either Yes/Enabled or No/Disabled.
However, it is recommended that you set this option to No/Disabled.
