Hi..i have windows XP edition n i have a celeron pc..today i couldt open my
internet explorer..the messg says" an error has occurred in internet
explorer. internet explorer will now close. if u continue to experience
problems please restart your computer"..now i restarted my computer abt 10
times but still its the same..my brother has a separate user account on my
computer but he doest have any problem initialising his internet explorer...i
even tried to download new internet explorer but it tells me that file
already exists...plss help me as i have my exam in few days n i have to do
online simulation tests..thanx in advance for ur help.

Have you done a thorough scan for malware, is your AV program a recent
one with current virus definitions, and are using a firewall at all
times when on line?


Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update
and run them weekly.

For viruses, start with Trend Micro’s Sysclean. Download it and the
signature file. Turn off system restore, boot into safe mode and run
sysclean. Boot back into normal mode and run a full AV scan with your
normal AV program. Then turn system restore back on.

Be nice to your brother and he might either give you his sign in info so you
can access the internet or sign in the computer himself and let you use IE
for your school work. That will give you time to research the problem after
your exam.
