Plextor PX-810UF error help

every time when I burn a dvd or cd I get the following error
Sense: 00 ASC: 00 ASCQ: 00 (Command 2A)

I am burning within the memory limit so I know it's not that.
I am using xp home and I have the dvd drive hook up to my computer
through usb 2. but first through a usb hub which is also usb 2.0
(cabkesToGo) then to my laptop (Compaq Presario V2000Z).
any ideas please help

This is Xp general questions, you would get better answers by posting in
hardware.
I don't think you have given enough details for us to resolve your issues.
ie what software are you using to burn, and what is it your trying to burn.

I am using Sonic to burn photos to DVD (8.5 GB) I also tried to burn a
linux ISO image to cd and I had the same problem.

Try connecting the external burner directly to the laptop. If you get no
issues that way, then you know the problem lies with the USB hub. If you
still get issues when the drive is connected directly to the laptop, try
the drive on another computer to see if the problem is with the drive
itself.
