Dear Sirs,

I tried to add a clock code to my DB form in VB – all out of a sudden I got
an electricity failure.
I tried to open my DB form again in design mode to continue but immediately
a Microsoft message appears (Microsoft Office Access has encountered a
problem and needs to close. Send error report.). I do not even get a chance
to open the VB code, because as soon as I click on “send error report†Access
is closing down.
If I would like to open my form in form view I get immediately the following
error message: The expression OnOpen as the event property setting produced
the following error: Module not found!
I know that because I was just busy as the electricity failed, and could not
finish.
If I could open the VB code again I could repair it – but how can I get into
it again?
Can someone help because the help which is offered on the error message
window doesn’t help at all.
Thanks
Klaus

Your database is corrupt. At times like this, nothing beats a good backup. Do
you have one? In fact make a complete backup of your database now and put it
away for safe keeping.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:

Oh! If power failures are a too frequent problem, consider investing in a UPS
battery backup. If you get one that rated for 500 watts or more, you should
have plenty of time to ride out a power failure or shut down the database and
computer gracefully.
