If you have troubles with the virus, MSBLAST, after removing it using the
tools provided in the many many links you've seen here in the group. And I
know you have looked before asking. Then please help us solve this and see
if we can get this "nipped in the bud" before it gets any worse.

A campaign to squish this has been continuous and the hard work of the MVP's
need not go to waste but we need your help. We don't HAVE infected
computers. We can't, therefore, find a way to fix this without knowing
exactly what is wrong.

If you will rename regedit.exe to regedit.com (if you have to) and then
navigate to these two keys:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Run
CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Then export them (zip format preferred) and email them to (e-mail address removed) We
will be able to assist you further.

First, thanks for this, Kelly and I are trying to keep with this PITA :-)
Just a minor correction or two:

The first registry key listed should be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

And Kelly's e-mail address is: (e-mail address removed)

I have her home phone and address (see her pic at
http://www.dts-l.org/gallery.htm). Any takers? If there's enough interest,
I'll set up an auction on E-bay! <GD&RVVVVVVVF>

This isn't exactly brain surgery :) Format a HDD, install WinXP, connect to
internet, in about a minute you'll have an infected computer.

in any amount that mankind places wealth in, that could even begin to reach

but cyberdrool. Given all the incredible work she's done -- and
not just during this crisis week -- don't you think she deserves
more than your frenzied supplications? Like maybe a statue?

Wow, thank you Mark! Is great to be appreciated by one's peers and even
better to be told so. What a "great" compliment.

Now, if Bill were to decide to place a statue on Redmond Campus, I would
assume it should be made of com/"Pewter"? :o)
