I have two DVD-ROM drives, a Sony IDE 16X and a Pioneer
DVR-104. After installing a new motherboard (A7N8X
Deluxe) the computer was unable to read any CD-ROM disks.
The drive can still read DVD-ROM disks but only for about
120 minutes and then ceases to operate. I have tried
reinstalling the drivers, changing the PIO ONLY & DMA if
Available and also reinstalling Windows. Requesting help.
I can provide more techinical information if needed.
Thank you!

System Specs.
Windows XP Professional
Athlon 2200+ XP
Western Digital 120GB & Maxtor 120GB Hard Drives
1032MB of RAM (Two Dual Sided 512's Chips)
MSI NVIDIA Geforce 4 4600 128 MB
Creative Audigy Platinum

Sincerely,
Entene DeVinco

How are your drives set up? IOW....are both hard drives on the same IDE
channel?...both cd on the same? Are all the drives jumpered correctly?
Have you tried a different IDE cable?

How are your temps in Asus probe? What size is your power supply and more
important what make and model of PS?

When you installed XP did you install sp1 and then the drivers from Asus, in
that order?

I have almost the exact same setup except a 2500 Barton and only 512 ram. Been
fine for 3 months.
