Myself and other have made several post regarding this "iexplorer -
Application Error". It refers to memory. There have been several post with
this problem and so far there have been no answers of any kind. If someone
knows what it is, just tell us. If someone knows what it is, and how to fix
it, please tell us. If it cannot be fixed/repaired, and we have to live
with it, tell us. It's getting apparent that no one knows as there never
has been a reply.
I know, -- I can run my System Recovery Disk, but would lose everything on
my HD. It's not so annoying as to resorting to this right now. This error
does not show up in any file, and is sporadic when appearing. Clicking the
OK on the Error does not remove it. The computer has to be Restarted in
order to take it off the desktop. Everything is locked up until you do
restart. I have run all Trojan, Anti-Virus Checkers, Spy Checkers, I know
of, and nothing shows up. I never had it until after I installed SP2. All
my applications, and computer runs fine with the exception of this annoying
Error popping up now and then, and having to restart to get rid of it.
Here's hoping to learn something......

Thanks "Paul". I have learned something. That link pointed out one of the
very things I am experiencing. I am relieved to know it's only a bug and
not something hidden somewhere. I can live with the annoyance, it's not
that bad. However, this pointed to the bug in IE 5.5, and I am using IE 6.0
and Firefox. It's strange that nothing showed up until after SP2
installation. Maybe some update will fix it someday. Thanks again.

Unless you are using another alias, I looked and the only post I can see
from you that refers to an application error was when you stated that you
were having the same problem in a reply to another post. That post you
replied to did not give any details about the actual error message. You need
to help us to help you.

To diagnose this properly, you need to post the actual error message, word
for word. In addition, the next time you see this error message let us know
exactly what you were doing, what programs were running, etc, at the time it
appeared.

In addition, go to Start/Run and type: eventvwr.msc and click OK. In the
Event Viewer, click on Applications in the left side menu and look for any
"X" error messages on the right side window. If any are found that
correspond to the time the error last occurred, double click that error
message to view the details. In the details dialog, click the Copy Icon at
the upper right of the dialog to copy the error details and paste this into
a reply to this message.

If you run the standard Windows CD recovery, you will not lose
everything on your HD. If you have a proprietary restore disk (eg Dell
- I think, Compaq, HP, etc) then you may lose everything, depending on
what the recovery disk provides.

Cheers,

Cliff

Ronnie, this is all I can get it to copy and paste.
The above is in the small box below Data: Bytes Words.
In the Description Box it has the following:
Hanging application msimn.exe. version 6.0.2900.2810,
hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000

This is all the information it gives. I hope this can help. There was not
a copy icon in the upper corner of the dialog box

Cliff, I do not have the standard Windows CD. I have a Sony VAIO, and they
give me a Recovery Systems Disk with it.
Ronnie..............I have answered you request in the above reply you made.
Thanks for offering to help.

This raw data is not of much use. The Copy icon is there, there should be 3
buttons an up arrow, down arrow and copy button. If you cannot copy, the
important data that is needed is the Source: Category: and Event ID:

I still cannot copy, but here's what's in the top under Event, besides the 3
buttons.

Date: 10/22/2004 Source: Application Hang
Time: 6:42.46 PM Category: (101)
Type: Error Event ID 1002
User: N/A
Computer: VALUED-CB7D4C82

This and what's below is all that's shown in the Event window.
Thanks again.
