please help

When i first installed vista (about 3 days ago) everything worked fine i
rebooted after updating and the edge of the windows were not transparent
and
alt-tab did not show the live preview (instead it showed only the old
alt-tab) and the "switch between windows" does not work it shows the alt-tab
instead

See if you have a previous version. Rightclick the shortcut in Quicklaunch,
and click Properties. Go where the location points, and rightclick that
file, to use Properties and the Previous Versions tab to replace it.

Windows Aero has been shut off on your machine. This usually happens because
of incompatibilities caused by older software (games in particular),
hardware not being up to requirements, or non-genuine (pirated) Vista
copies.

You can turn the Aero feature back on in Control Panel > Appearance and
Personalisation > Personalisation > Change Theme > select Windows Vista
theme from the drop-down menu.
