In the last couple of months my computer has been only able to boot with last
known good configuration. I can not boot up XP normally. When I turn the pc
on it automatically states that the pc was shutdown inporperly. I can boot
in safe mode. But I can not start windows normally... The only thing I can
think of is that the problem started when I installed a Belkin wireless USB
network adapter a couple of months ago.. I thought that I totally uninstalled
it, but the booting issues still persist. What can I do so that the pc boots
normally again. Thanks...

Have you tried a system restore prior to your Belkin restore. Windows
generally creates a restore point prior to most installs.

I have not. Will that erase anything I have done since the Belkin install?
What steps should I follow to do the system restore?

I tried to system restore and it will only allow me to restore up until a
certain date. How can I go back as far as the date i installed the belkin?

System restore only goes back a maximum of 90 days, and to go back that
far depends on how much space is allocated to it. Once the space is
used restore points are purged on a first in first out basis.

System restore is only a short time solution - only good in practice to
a week or two. Consider getting a drive imaging system if you want to
save a system state that's older.
