Please help! I puchased my PC with XP Home Edition
installed on it by the manufacturer, therefore I didn't
get an installation disk. Over the course of the last
year, some of the files have either been corrupted or are
completely missing. Instead of buying a new Home Edition
program, I went ahead and bought the XP Pro Edition and
installed it, first as a new installation (saving it in a
separate file by itself), and when that didn't work, then
I installed it again as an upgrade to my Home Edition.
Now I have both editions on my pc. When I start my pc, I
have to pick which program I want to run, which at this
point is still my Home Edition, with all of it's
corrupted/missing files, because that's where all my
stuff is that I use every day! I want to transfer all of
my personal programs/files/settings to the Pro Edition
and get rid of the Home Edition but I don't know how.
Please help! I sent an e-mail request to Microsoft
(which cost me $35.00!) and haven't gotten a response
from them so I'm turning to this discussion group for
help! Thank you in advance for any help that you can
give me! If you need to, please contact me through my e-
mail address at: (e-mail address removed) Thank you in
advance for any help you can give! Vicki

I figure by now you must have a real mess on your hands so I suggest you safe
all of your work to a CDRW and do a NEW fresh install of XP Pro formatting the
hard drive in the process,This will of course delete everything that is on that
HD but it also will give you a new start to set it up the way you would like.
I only hope that you have the original programs on CD that came with the system
you bought because you will have to reinstall everything.
