I am writing on behalf of my father who is not a real savvy user
anyway; whats worse is he is 100 miles away. He, stupidly fell for
the hoax email from MS spoofer and ran the virii. It did all the
stuff I've read it does. We have disabled system restore, downloaded
FIXSWEN from Norton, executed it using "Run As", but it comes back
after scanning the system and says it couldn't create the log and it
has fixed nothing. I then instructed him to get the NAI Stinger tool
(supposedly has the fix also). When he trys to run it says it may be
infected and shuts down immediately. We can't fix his file
associations, or get the registry back to normal. ANY ideas would
help before he throws last years christmas present from me away!

wot about remote acssess by your self
maybe complicated but who knows it may be easier
