I don't know where to go with this, but I would be extremeley grateful if
anyone can help me. I downloaded and installed SP2 but when it rebooted it
was stuck in a loop and kept shutting down. I followed the instructions for
removing SP2 from the windows articles and I think its gone. I can now
restart my computer but when I log on (I am the administrator and only user),
windows acts like a brand new account. My documents is completely empty, but
the thing is that all my memory on my hard drive is the same. I know all my
files are there somehwere but I cant find them, and Ive tried everything.
Please help

I suspect that windows created a new account folder and and the (New)
accounts "My Document" would be empty. Your old account folder should still
be on your system. To check, I recommend that you open Windows Explorer -
Start | All Programs | Accessories | select Windows Explorer. With the
Windows Explorer window open - Click on "My Computer" | "Local Disk (C) |
"Documents and Settings" - At this point you should see several account(s)
directories. All Users, Default User, (New) account & hopefully the (Old)
account. By clicking on the (Old) account name you should see several
folders that contained information about your old configuration. Desktops /
Favorites / etc. Click on "My Documents" and hopefully the files you are
looking for are at this location.

*** Note: the next step will copy your old files into the new account. If
you have created a new file with the same name as an old document you could
over write the new file. ***

If you found the old account & files. I recommend that you highlight the
(Old) accounts "My Document" directory name | Right mouse click - Copy. Then
move to the (New) Account name folder - Highlight the (New) account name (not
My Folder)| Right click - Paste. This will copy all of your (old) My
Documents into your (New) account name. So your files should now be
available in My Documents.

You can repeate this process to copy your (old) Favorites & (old) Desktop if
you wish. Good Luck with getting your old account files into you new account.
