Please help with Formulas

I have a purchase order form and at the bottom I need to have Total and then VAT and then Sub Total. I dont know the right formula to work the VAT out. I'm new to Excel and any help will be appreciated

Assuming you are in UK then VAT needs to be 17.5%.

Assume yout Goods total is in cell G20

in cell G21 enter = round(G20*0.175,2)
This calculates the VAT to 2 decimal places

Then in cell G22 enter =G20+G21

You will need to change the assumed references to suit your
requirements

But after I put the formula in instead of showing the amount of VAT it only shows ######

I think your column is too narrow. Widen it to see the end result.
If you change the format of the cells you can limit the width of the
result as you wish then reshrink the column
